What you say in ventr belongs to you. We don't sell it. We don't advertise against it. We don't use your conversations to train AI models. There's no feed, no sharing, nothing public — ever.

Your conversations are stored encrypted, and walled off so that only your account can ever reach them. We don't just trust that — we tested it: we set up a second account and tried every way to read the first one's private words, and it couldn't. Not through the app, not behind it. That wall is the whole point, so we prove it, not assume it.

To give ventr a real voice, your audio passes through trusted providers that turn speech into text and text into speech. We've set that to delete on the tightest schedule available — your voice isn't kept sitting around. We won't claim "we keep nothing anywhere," because that wouldn't be true yet — and we'd rather tell you exactly how it works than make a promise we can't stand behind.

One tap in Settings permanently deletes your account and everything tied to it — conversations, settings, the lot. No "contact us," no waiting. It's your off-switch, and it's real.

• Never pretend to be your therapist. ventr is a place to think out loud and feel heard — not therapy, medical care, or crisis support. If you're in real trouble, we'll always point you to a human who can help.
• Never tell you what you want to hear just to keep you here. We're warm with you — we won't co-sign something that could hurt you.

Reading your sessions isn't part of how ventr runs — there's no routine monitoring. In rare cases (a safety concern, a bug you report, or a legal requirement) a founder-level admin can technically access data, and we treat that as exceptional, not normal. We'd rather you know that than imagine a guarantee we don't have.

No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise. If there's ever a breach that affects you, we'll tell you — plainly and quickly — what happened and what we're doing. Honesty is the entire deal here.
